1 man dead, 1 critical after West Philadelphia shooting

A street shooting in West Philadelphia has left one man dead and another wounded.

The shooting occurred around 9:35 p.m. Monday on Delancey Street.

Authorities say a 27-year-old man was shot multiple times in the torso and was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. A 50-year-old man was shot multiple times in the chest and leg and remained hospitalized Tuesday in critical condition.

The names of the victims and further details about the shooting were not disclosed.

A motive remains under investigation. But authorities say a fight involving children in the neighborhood may have led to the shooting.
