WARMINSTER, Pa. (WTXF) - Eleven people have been arrested after authorities in Bucks County raided a suspected drug lab overnight.
SWAT teams entered the home on the 600 block of Cheryl Drive in Warminster late Tuesday night. Authorities say the raid was part of a months-long investigation.
"We have now taken a major heroin organized crime operation out of our neighborhoods, off of our street, that can no longer poison our kids," Bucks County District Attorney Matthew Weintraub said in a press conference Wednesday afternoon.
Investigators say the suspects were mixing and packaging as much as $8 million in narcotics each week.
Early Wednesday morning, officers could be seen removing boxes of evidence from the home. Police also recovered $32,000 in cash, a loaded handgun, and a box of shotgun shells from the home.
Neighbors say they noticed suspicious activity at the house, which is a rental property, and had previously alerted police.
Investigators say they believe the operation, was run by Darieal Vasquez, 38, and Moises Rodriguez, 43, who were both arrested and are being held on bail.
Luigi Ortega, 30, Delvin Perez, 36, Roberto Espinal, 46, Jose Luis-Morales, 45, Carlos Garcia-Perez, 33, Eleni Saturrie, 38, Yocasta Maria-Mercedes, 37, Nuris Martinez, 45, and Luis Torres, 31, were also charged following the raid and held on bail.
