2 dead after confirmed EF-1 tornado causes roof collapse at Baltimore Amazon fulfillment center

Investigators have identified two men who were killed Friday night after an EF-1 tornado caused a building collapse at Baltimore's Amazon fulfillment center.

Baltimore Fire officials say Israel Espana Argote and 54-year-old Andrew Lindsey were killed after heavy wind and rain led to the collapse of a 50-foot wall at the Amazon Fulfillment Center in southeast Baltimore.

One of the two men was found under debris and taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

"Last night when we were here on the scene, we actually retrieved a gentleman that was under the debris and we transported him into the hospital, unfortunately he succumb to his injuries and is deceased. We did get reports that there was another person missing so throughout the night our members on the scene, were basically searching for that person," said Chief Roman Clark with Baltimore City Fire.

The second victim was found dead under the rubble Saturday morning. First responders, fire fighters and search and rescue crews continued to comb through the debris.

Officials in Baltimore County reported that the roof on two apartment buildings were also blown off.

West of Baltimore, the National Weather Service confirms another EF-1 tornado brought heavy rain and winds in Carroll County, Maryland.

The severe weather brought serious damage to Mount Airy, including downed trees and building damage.

Three people were reported injured from damage after a roof collapse at a T.J. Maxx store on Twin Arch Road.
