2 Delaware maids booked on theft charges
NEWARK, DE (WTXF) - Two Delaware maids have been charged with theft and other related offenses after police say they learned that the two stole items from a home they had been hired to clean.
According to a press release, New Castle County Police were called to a home in the unit block of Fox Den Road in regards to a theft.
When they arrived, the 65-year-old victim told Corporal O. Rodriguez that multiple pieces of heirloom silverware had gone missing from her home.
Corporal Rodriguez then contacted a 59-year-old victim who said she stored jewelry, important documents, and other miscellaneous items at the home. She also reported some of the items missing.
In the initial investigation, 41-year-old Shannon Taylor of Wilmington, who had been hired to clean the victim's home, was responsible for selling jewelry and gift cards to local stores.
That information assistant Cpl. Rodriguez in getting a search warrant which was put into action on Saturday at Taylor's home.
There, officers found jewelry and coins belonging to the 59-year-old victim.
The investigation continued and from there it was believed that 40-year-old Jessica Faville of Hockessin was in possession of stolen property.
Cpl. Rodriguez and other officers put a search warrant into action on Faville's home and car early Monday, where they found a wooden silverware box in the trunk of her car.
Taylor is charged with theft $1,500 or greater, theft $1,500 or greater and the victim was 62 years of age or older, selling stolen property over $1,500 and 2 counts of selling stolen property under $1,500. She was arraigned and released on $10,000 unsecured bond and was issued a no contact order.
Faville was charged with theft $1,500 or greater and the victim was 62 years of age or older, conspiracy in the second degree, and selling stolen property under $1,500. She was also arraigned and then released on $1,500 unsecured bond and issued a no contact order as well.
