2 hurt in separate fires in Kensington, Feltonville

PHILADELPHIA (FOX 29) - Two people are in the hospital after overnight fires in Philadelphia's Feltonville and Kensington neighborhoods.

Crews responded to a fire on East Willard Street just after midnight and reported heavy flames coming from the first floor of the row home.

One person was rescued from the home and taken to Temple University Hospital with serious injuries.

The fire was placed under control a short time later.

Firefighters then were called to a second fire on C Street in Feltonville around 2:30 p.m.

The fire was quickly placed under control and a woman was taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
