2 injured in Germantown fire as crews battle flames, bitter temps

Crews battled intense flames amid bitter cold temperatures after a fire broke out at a Germantown apartment overnight.

Crews responded to the six-story building on the 5000 block of Morris Street around 11:40 p.m. on Monday.

Officials say two victims were transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center for treatment. One of those victims is in stable condition. No word on the second victim.

Multiple SEPTA buses responded for residents waiting outside in the cold.

The fire was placed under control by around 12:20 a.m.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
