2-year-old in critical condition after car crashes into tree in Northeast Phila.

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - A 2-year-old is in critical condition after a car accident in Northeast Philadelphia Sunday night.

The incident occurred just before 11:00 p.m. at the intersection of Cheltenham and Bustleton Avenues.

The driver of the vehicle hit a pole with her two children in the car.

She and an 8-year-old were taken to Hahnemann Hospital with minor injuries while the 2-year-old was rushed to St. Christopher's with severe head trauma.

The mother was tested for DUI; no word on toxicology test results.
