20-year-old dies after falling from roof in Newark

NEWARK, DE - Police in Newark are investigating an incident in which a man fell from a roof Saturday afternoon. Police have confirmed that the man has died as a result of the fall.

The incident occurred on the 100 block of West Main Street at 3:57 p.m.

According to a press release, police responded to a call that a 20-year-old Massachusetts man had fallen from a third story roof.

When police arrived on the scene with paramedics and the Aetna Hose, Hook, and Ladder Company, they found the man unresponsive. He was taken to the Christiana Hospital Emergency Room.

The incident is under investigation. The man was not a University of Delaware student, however university police are on campus with Newark Police Victim Services Unit proving access to victim and counseling services.
