23-year-old Evesham man arrested on child pornography charges

An Evesham, New Jersey man has been arrested on child pornography charges.

Burlington County Prosecutor Robert D. Bernardi and Evesham Township Police Chief Christopher Chew announced that the 23-year-old man, identified as Christian D. Maher-Schultze was arrested February 5.

He was charged with possession and distribution of child pornography, including one county of Endangering the Welfare of Children (Second Degree) for distribution and one count of Endangering the Welfare of Children (Third Degree) for possession.

Maher-Schultze was taken into custody on Friday at his residence after a search warrant was executed.

An investigation conducted by the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office High-Tech Crimes Unit, the Eveshame Township Police Department, and the New Jersey State police Digital Technology Investigations Unit revealed that the man was using his personal email account to actively trade child pornography with other individuals. Many of the images showed pre-pubescent girls engaging in sexual activity with men.

Maher-Schultze is being held in the Burlington County Jail on $75,000 bail.

He will have his first appearance in Superior Court in Burlington County Monday at 3 p.m.
