28-year-old man shot and killed in Frankford
FRANKFORD (WTXF) - Police in Frankford are investigating a fatal shooting.
Philadelphia police were called to the 5000 block of Hawthorne Street just before 6:30 Sunday evening.
According to witnesses, police say a 28-year-old man had been shot once in the back.
The man was transported to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators say, based on witness accounts, a large block party was taking place when two men got into an argument. Reportedly, both men drew weapons.
Witness accounts state the shooter fired a gun, striking the victim in the back. The shooter remained at the scene. Police were interviewing him and they had his weapon, as well as the victim's weapon.
