3 killed in crash that followed brief pursuit in Tabernacle, N.J.

Three people have died following a crash involving a stolen vehicle in Tabernacle, New Jersey on Monday.

New Jersey State Police say they were investigating a stolen vehicle and were dispatched to the Pic-a-Lilli Inn on Route 206 around noon.

As troopers got arrived at the scene, they spotted the green GMC Yukon traveling in the opposite direction on Route 206 and turned around to attempt to stop the vehicle.

Authorities say at that time the Yukon began driving at a high rate of speed, and troopers followed the SUV for a short distance until it ran off the side of the road and struck a pole.

The SUV quickly became engulfed in flames following the crash.

All three people inside the car were pronounced dead at the scene and have not been identified.

The circumstances surrounding the stolen vehicle investigation as well as the crash remain under investigation.
