5-year-old boy dies in home treadmill accident; no charges expected
WHITEHALL, Pa. (AP) -- The death of a 5-year-old boy killed in a treadmill accident at a Pennsylvania home has been ruled an accident.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office determined Monday that Ashim Gurung died from neck compression. Authorities say no criminal charges will be filed.
Authorities say the accident occurred around 11 a.m. Sunday in a Whitehall home. The child apparently was playing near the moving treadmill when he somehow got caught in it while his parents were getting him some food.
Gurung was pronounced dead at the home a short time later.
