After Dad of Six Died in San Bernadino, His Wife's Friends Raised $100,000 in One Day

WTXF - Michael Raymond Wetzel, a father of six, was tragically killed in Wednesday's mass shooting in San Bernardino, struck by gunfire while attending a meeting at the Inland Regional Center.

Within hours, friends of Wetzel's wife, Renee, had set up a crowdfunding site at YouCaring.com,

In order to "help our Mama Renee in anyway that we can." The campaign had raised $100,000 in the first day and a half, and the goal has been raised twice already. The donations came from more than 1,000 donors, and the campaign had been shared on Facebook more than 20,000 times.

The effort was coordinated through thelilmamas, a community of mothers of which Renee is a member.
