Air quality warning through the day issued for NJ

Officials are warning that the concentration of pollution in the air across New Jersey could become unhealthy for some people.

The National Weather Service said Friday that the state Department of Environmental Protection has issued a Code Orange air quality alert across the state.

The alert is in effect through Friday.

The weather service says children and those suffering with asthma could be affected by the air quality.

Temperatures inland are expected to reach near 90 degrees, but forecasts show temperatures will climb only to about 80 at the shore.
