Arrest Made in Temple Robberies

Philadelphia Police have made an arrest in the case of several robberies last month in the area around Temple University.

Robert Sherrill, 26, was taken into custody Saturday in connection with the crimes. He has been charged with robbery, carjacking and "related offenses," police said Wednesday.

Sherrill is accused of taking part in a pair of incidents near Temple, both in the early-morning hours of October 15. The first was the robbery of a 21-year-old male who had his keys and cellular phone taken at gunpoint by a pair of suspects who later made off with the victim's car. The second involved robbery at gunpoint of a cell phone, keys, and wallet from a second man.

Police, who had released surveillance video on YouTube and to local media, thanked the media and public for thier help.
