Authorities seek to ID serial armed robbers
PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - The Philadelphia Police Department, the Cheltenham Township Police Department and the FBI are seeking the public's assistance to identify and locate serial armed robbers believed to be responsible for at least nine commercial robberies in the past four weeks.
The dates and locations of the robberies are as follows:
8/17/18 - Family Dollar; 1812 West Cheltenham Avenue, Philadelphia
8/17/18 - Family Dollar; 6555 Greene Street, Philadelphia
8/22/18 - Little Caesar's Pizza; 7153 Ogontz Avenue, Philadelphia
8/22/18 - Rite Aid; 7401 Ogontz Avenue, Philadelphia
8/22/18 - Pizza Hut; 1401 66th Avenue, Philadelphia
8/24/18 - Rite Aid; 6744 North 5th Street, Philadelphia
9/7/18 - Rite Aid; 1401 West Cheltenham Avenue, Elkins Park
9/13/18 - Metro PCS; 7147 Ogontz Avenue, Philadelphia
9/14/18 - Rite Aid; 1401 West Cheltenham Avenue, Elkins Park
According to investigators, at least two individuals are involved in the robberies, which occurred at various times of day. One or both will enter the location, brandish a handgun and demand money from an employee or employees, according to authorities.
The robbers are described as black males, approximately 20-30 years old and 5'8"-6' tall.
