AZ girl escapes after being held for a month in Las Vegas

NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) -- Police say a 14-year-old Arizona girl's escape from a North Las Vegas home where she says she was kept and sexually attacked for a month has sparked a search for other possible victims.

North Las Vegas police Officer Steven Wiese said Saturday the girl fled Thursday afternoon from a home in a middle-class neighborhood and called police from a convenience store near Camino Al Norte and Washburn Road.

Police later stopped a vehicle and arrested 26-year-old Jimmy Carter Kim.

Records show Kim is being held at the Las Vegas City Jail pending an initial court appearance on multiple felony kidnapping and child sexual assault with use of a weapon charges.

Wiese says a search of Kim's home turned up a gun and evidence that other children may have been attacked.
