Barricade situation ends peacefully in Southwest Philadelphia
SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Philadelphia police were able to take two men involved in a barricade situation into custody peacefully in Southwest Philadelphia Sunday.
Shortly after 3:15 p.m., police received a call about a possible armed robbery on South Redfield Street. A witness described two armed men appearing to be in their twenties.
Police say the two men took off when authorities responded. Investigators say the two men allegedly ran into a home about a block away on 20th and Salford Streets.
That's when police declared a barricade situation, as the men refused to come out. Police say at least one of the men appeared to be armed.
Police created a perimeter with 12th District Officers, SWAT team members and the fire department around the scene.
After some effort, police were able to get the two men to come out of the home peacefully. They were taken into custody.
There were no reported injuries.
