Barricade situation ends peacefully in West Oak Lane

Police in West Oak Lane were on the scene of a barricade situation early Wednesday morning.

The incident began late Tuesday night just before 11 p.m. near East Haines Street and Stenton Avenue.

Officers say the incident began as a domestic dispute after they received a call from a woman who was able to get out of the home safely from the roof.

The man barricaded himself inside the home for nearly two hours before he was taken into custody.

The 43-year-old woman was then safely rescued from the roof of the home, and no injuries were reported.

Chief Inspector Scott Small says a records check revealed an active protection from abuse warrant for the suspect.
