Beloved Mississippi State football player bids emotional farewell to team and fan
A Mississippi State University football player could not hold back tears when saying goodbye to his biggest fan at the last game of the season on November 23.
Donald Gray was unable to play in the Bulldogs' final three games due to injury. He can be seen in photos wiping back tears at the final game of the year as he holds his biggest fan, Jesse. Jesse's mom, DeLane Lewis Grogan, said the 4-year-old and the player have had a special bond. The girl has been a fan of the wide receiver since last season, when he gave the girl a hug after the game.
According to Grogan, after that initial meeting, there was no turning back. "Now he is a part of our family," Grogan said. "He will always be our number one Bulldog."
