Bensalem Police Arrest Duo Following String of Armed Robberies
BENSALEM (WTXF) - Bensalem Police have arrested 28-year old Matthew Mirante and 27-year-old Melissa Hammond for their role in four recent armed robberies.
The robberies were as follows:
Friday, November 20 at 3:31 a.m. - a cab driver was robbed at point of gun at 1900 Park Avenue in Bensalem.
Sunday, November 22 at 8:07 p.m. - a pizza delivery driver was robbed at point of gun at 1900 Park Avenue in Bensalem.
Monday, November 23 at 10:05 p.m. - a cab driver was robbed at point of gun at 1056 Cedar Avenue in Bensalem.
Wednesday, November 25 at 3:45 a.m. - a cab driver was robbed at point of gun in Lower Moreland.
During the robbery in Lower Moreland the license plate number of the suspect's vehicle was obtained.
This information was provided to police and directly led to the arrests of Mirante and Hammond. Mirante and Hammond were charged with robbery and related offenses.
They were arraigned by District Justice Kelly and sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility.
Mirante's bail was 10% of $100,000 and Hammond's bail was 10% of $50,000.
