Big Box Black Friday & Cyber Monday Deals

(FOX/FATWALLET.COM) - There's a lot to buy this Black Friday and from so many different places. So, where do you go to find the best deals? We want to help you form your plan of attack for Black Friday and Cyber Monday so we're listing many of the hottest deals from your "big box" stores and a hand full of niche retailers. Of course, you'll find reviews of some of the tech products below on our YouTube channel and here on the site!

As the old saying goes, "if you don't plan to succeed, you plan to fail" so we begin with a list of the top 5 tips to get the deal you've been waiting for from the shopping experts at Ben's Bargains:

-- Timing is everything: The best online deals start the night before Thanksgiving (Wednesday). While stores schedule their Thanksgiving Day deals to begin at midnight EST (9 p.m. PST), many retailers will jump the gun and start an hour or two earlier. Start keeping an eye out for those doorbusters around 7 p.m. PST, an ideal task for mobile devices.

-- Prep your accounts in advance: There's nothing worse than missing out on an amazing online doorbuster because you had to set up a new account with shipping / payment details. If you plan on shopping at a specific retailer this year, visit a few days before Black Friday and update all your details. Around 7 p.m. PST, go log into that account and you will be ready to quickly make a purchase before online doorbuster inventory runs out.

-- Try adding doorbusters early: This trick will vary between online retailers. Add the doorbuster to your cart on Wednesday night and simply refresh the page to see if the price drops in your cart. This could end up saving you those previous seconds that will help snag the deal before inventory sells out. However, open a second tab in your browser to refresh the price on the product page just in case.

-- If something sells out, don't give up: Starting Wednesday night through Friday night, the most aggressive doorbuster deals will happen at random times online. Stores often plan on having inventory saved for specific times of the day. In addition, online retailers will often compete with price drops. Amazon may lower a price on a product and sell out within an hour. However, Target or Walmart may decide to price match it later in the day.

-- Don't forget the little guys: While massive retailers like Amazon, Walmart, Target and Best Buy are certainly great places to score online Black Friday deals, some smaller retailers have online deals just as good, sometimes even better (and less likely to sell out!) Last year, nearly-extinct Radio Shack had the best deal on Beats headphones, Staples had the cheap laptop deal of the year, and 6pm had the best prices on shoes and apparel. Other retailers to keep an eye on include the Microsoft Store, OfficeMax and Sears.

I'm a big kid so let's begin with Toys 'R Us! Toys 'R Us Thanksgiving Doorbusters start at 5PM on Thanksgiving. The ad says that these doorbusters are available in-store only, but folks can shop online starting at 9:00 am Thanksgiving morning Select doorbusters end 12AM Friday - the rest are available through Saturday. Black Friday Doorbusters start at 7AM. According to the folks at Fatwallet.com, these are the most notable deals from the giraffe:

Next up, Best Buy! Being a tech geek myself, this is like Santa's Workshop for me. If you feel the same way, read on to see which deals may most appeal to you and those you're shopping for. Best Buy will open at 5PM on Thanksgiving. They'll remain open until 1AM and re-open again at 8AM on Black Friday, and online shopping start at 12:00 am Thanksgiving morning and lasts all day with FREE Shipping.

Microsoft has brick and mortar stores and will be participating in the Black Friday chaos with deals on everything from Xboxes to the new Lumia phone running Windows 10 to laptops from various manufacturers. They even have a very cool interactive promotion where they'll offer Cortana Coupons if you're using the Microsoft Edge browser whilve shopping certain retailers websites. Including Macy's, Target, and Toys R' Us, Microsoft will offer Cortana Coupons in the URL when browsing those sites.
