Bucks County woman charged in shooting death of man

The Bucks County District Attorney says a 33-year-old woman has been charged in connection with the shooting death of a 64-year-old man.

DA Matt Weintraub announced charges against Jennifer Lynn Morrissey. He says police investigated cell phone records for several weeks to trace Morrissey to the scene of the slaying of 64-year-old Michael McNew and also revealed threatening texts she had allegedly sent him.

Authorities found McNew shot dead in house on August 8. According to authorities, Morrissey shot McNew on August 6 after he demanded she move out of the residence. Then, she returned several hours later to make the scene look like a robbery, the DA said.

Morrissey appeared before the county judge today who denied bail. She remains behind bars tonight.
