Bullet hits bedpost during shooting in Ogontz, 1 hurt

Philadelphia Police are investigating a shooting in Ogontz that left one man critically injured, and sent bullets flying into nearby cars and homes.

Officers responded to the area of 15 th and Conlyn Streets around 11:35 p.m. Thursday, after hearing gunshots in the area. When officers arrived on scene they witnessed a vehicle speeding away from the scene.

Police followed the car, and say two guns were thrown from the vehicle near18th and Conlyn. The vehicle was eventually stopped at 21 st and Grange Streets and two persons of interest into custody.

While police were investigating the scene of the shooting, they were unable to located a victim despite finding 20 shell casings. During their investigation, they were notified by Einstein Hospital that a 29-year-old victim had shown up at the hospital.

The victim was transported by a private vehicle with gunshot wounds to his left arm, shoulder and torso. He was listed in critical condition.

Investigators processing the scene say the recovered casings came from two different firearms.

Police say one of the bullets went through a bedroom window of a nearby home, striking the bed post, and just missing a sleeping man.

Investigators say the motive for the shooting is unknown at this time, but they found multiple surveillance cameras in the area.
