Camden County police officers go above and beyond for teen's birthday

Camden County Police Officers Vidal Rivera and Damian Caraballo went above the call of duty after they met a mom who couldn't afford to buy balloons to celebrate her son's 16th birthday.

The officers not only bought the balloons, but they got him a birthday cake and new bike. They say they just got paid and wanted to show what caring for their community is really about.

"Some police officers look at you the wrong way and always think you're a criminal. And police officers like these--they help you," the 16-year-old David Owens said.

The officers paid for the $150 bike with their own money. Both David and his mom say they'll never forget their act of kindness.
