Car Strikes and Kills Woman, Crashes into Bank in North Philadelphia

Police in Philadelphia are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian before a car slammed into a building in North Philadelphia early Saturday morning.

Officers were called to the scene of the accident on the 3200 block of North Broad Street around 4:35 a.m.

Police say a 2009 Buick was traveling north on Broad Street when it crossed into the southbound lanes of traffic, striking a 50-year-old woman, and then crashing into a PNC Bank.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car, a 28-year-old man, and two other male passengers, 24 and 25, were transported to Temple University Hospital in stable condition.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
