Carjacking suspects taken into custody after North Philadelphia crash

Two men have been taken into custody after police say armed carjacking resulted in a crash in North Philadelphia.

Police say a driver was parking his father's in the area of 5th and York Streets around 3 a.m.

The driver handed over the keys, and both suspects got into the Ford Escape and drove off. According to police, the driver's phone was left inside the car and police were able to track the phone to catch up with the suspects.

While trying to elude police, the suspects crashed through a fence at Lawrence and Dauphin Streets. Both suspects are now in custody.

No injuries were reported as a result of the carjacking or crash.
