Cell Phone Protects Man From Bomb Shrapnel in France

SAINT-DENIS, FRANCE - Cell phones are known to have 'apps', and a man in Paris found a new one for his phone: 'Lifesaver'.

A man who survived an explosion near the Stade de France Friday night said his cell phone saved his life by blocking flying debris when a terrorist detonated a device.

The man, whose only name given is Sylvestre, says he was walking near the stadium where France and Germany were playing a soccer match, and he had just hung up the phone when he heard an explosion.

His phone was struck by flying shrapnel, and was pretty much destroyed.

He walked away with relatively minor injuries.
