Child injured in West Philadelphia house fire

WEST PHILADELPHIA (FOX 29) - One child has been injured following a house fire in West Philadelphia.

The fire broke out on the 5000 block of Latona Street around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday and was placed under control shortly before 8 a.m.

Officials say the victim was transported to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for treatment. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
