Clerk beaten with wrench during Germantown robbery, two sought

Police are searching for two men wanted in connection with an armed robbery in Germantown on the afternoon of Dec. 12.

Authorities say that two men entered the Star One Wireless store located on the 5000 block of Germantown Avenue and demanded money and cell phones.

One of the suspects allegedly jumped over the counter and assaulted an employee with a wrench. Police say the employee was able to escape the attack and was later transported to a local hospital.

The suspects fled the scene with several cell phones, and were last seen heading west on Rittenhouse Street.

Police describe the suspects as black men 18 to 25 years old, between 6-foot-0 and 6-foot-2 with thin builds.

Authorities say one of the men was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a black JanSport backpack, faded gray pants and yellow and black sneakers.

The other suspect is described by police as wearing a dark green and gray colored jacket, gray pants, and blue and white sneakers.

Police warn that anyone who sees these men should not approach them.
