Construction worker struck, killed on I-95

Wilmington, Del. (WTXF) State police say a construction worker has died after being struck by a vehicle at the Brandywine River Bridge on I-95 in Wilmington, Delaware.

It happened shortly after 7:30 p.m. Monday.

According to police, the man died as a result of his injuries at Christiana Hospital.

The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is responding to the scene of the crash and will assume the investigation. DelDOT tells us the man worked for a contractor and was not a DelDOT employee.

The two right hand lanes of northbound I-95 are currently closed.
