Courage, compassion of firefighters captured on doorbell security camera
OAKLAND, Calif. (KTVU) - A Cal Fire firefighter spoke remotely to the owner of a home that was nearly burned and the touching exchange was recorded on a doorbell security camera.
Frank Grosso was forced to evacuate his home in Corona in Riverside County as the so-called Holy Fire burned through the area. Grosso was staying with a relative in Irvine when he found out from the firefighter that his place was still standing.
"We're going to hang out here a little while longer before we move on, but your house is safe," said the unnamed firefighter on the video posted to Facebook.

The firefighter went on to ask if they were all right at their current location, which they were. He also let them know their back fence got burned and that the "yard's a little blackened but [the] house is perfect."
Grosso told KTVU Friday he is waiting for evacuation orders to be lifted so he can return and see the damage done to his property.
The heartfelt exchange and the gratitude in Grosso's voice is a reminder of the remarkable work being done by thousands of firefighters across California during this devastating fire season.
