CVS robbery suspect arrested after holding employees
MEDIA, Pa. (WTXF) - Police in Delaware County arrested the man they say robbed a CVS Pharmacy and locked the employees in the bathroom, Wednesday night.
Media police say just before 10pm, a man entered the front of the store on E. Baltimore Avenue. He was holding a black handgun, and wearing all-black clothing, a hooded sweatshirt and mask.
He immediately approached employees, forcing them to give him an "an undetermined amount of money."
Then, he forced them into a rear bathroom.
By then, officers had arrived and saw him leave through the back of the building, onto the loading dock. He went back in and tried to leave through the front, but the building was surrounded and he was confronted by other officers.
He ended up in a storage room in the back of the building.
Officers rescued the employees but the suspect refused to surrender.
Then, the SWAT team was called out. About 90 minutes later, just before 11:30pm -- Kwesi Hudson, 46 from Wilmington -- surrendered and police say they recovered a weapon.
