Deadly crash in Norristown under investigation

Police are investigating a deadly early morning crash in Norristown.

Video of the scene showed a white Hyundai crumpled on the front lawn of a local business. a black SUV, with its front smashed in, was nearby.

Police and the Montgomery County DA say the Hyundai, which had five passengers, fled early morning when an officer approached after a report of suspicious activity.

According to police, they were not chasing the car when it blew the red light at Hamilton and Main, striking the SUV.

Investigators said an occupant in the Hyundai passed away.

Security footage released later in the day shows police arresting another occupant after he falls.
