Del. State Police seek assistance locating New Castle man in connection with a stabbing

NEW CASTLE, Del. (WTXF) - Delaware State Police are asking for assistance locating a suspect in connection with an assault.

Authorities say the incident happened July 14. Troopers were called, just before 2:15 a.m., to the Knights Inn, on the report of a stabbing.

Troopers discovered the victim on Robinson Drive. The victim had serious stab wounds and was transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for the injuries.

Authorities say the suspect is identified as 30-year-old Sirrone Deshields of New Castle, Delaware. Deshields is wanted for 1st degree assault, among other charges.
