Detectives Investigate Alleged Assaults in Cobbs Creek

Philadelphia police say they are investigating two alleged assaults that happened in Cobbs Creek.

Only FOX 29 was there as investigators from the Philadelphia Police Department's Special Victim's Unit arrived at the Cobbs Creek Golf Course looking for evidence in another reported sex assault that allegedly happened.

Neighbors in the area were stunned. But as golfers worked their way across the course and navigated the greens, investigators scoured the area off Cardington Road. The 39-year-old victim says she was dragged onto the course and assaulted around 8 p.m. Friday night.

"I wouldn't walk that time of night or that time of the morning. It's dangerous for anybody," said Upper Darby resident Debbie Lewis.

The victim went to Lankenau Hospital after the alleged assault and reported the incident. Back on July 10th, a 26-year-old woman reported being dragged onto the course and sexually assaulted. That suspect remains on the loose.

Police also reported that back on July 28th, a young man was approached by a man and another suspect at gunpoint , dragged onto the course, and robbed in the very same area. Joe Dioguardi runs a water ice stand close to the golf course.

"I just wish they would maybe walk with someone else, not walk alone," he told FOX 29.

According to investigators, they are reviewing surveillance video from nearby businesses.
