Disorderly crowd on Walnut Street leads to two arrests, police say

Philadelphia Police dealt with two unruly crowd situations Saturday, November 18.

Police say a crowd gathered on the 1700 block of Walnut Street around 7 p.m. Saturday evening. The group was exiting a club and assaulted a couple walking down Walnut Street.

A second, larger group gathered later Saturday. Police say approximately 100 juveniles were gathered between the 1600 and 1800 blocks of Walnut. They harassed people walking by.

Philadelphia and SEPTA Police were called to disperse the crowd down the 18th Street corridor.

Police say one SEPTA officer was assaulted. The injuries were minor.

SEPTA Police made two arrests. Philadelphia Police report three assaults and one robbery occurred during this incident.
