'Doctors were amazed': Test results of boy thrown at MOA called miraculous

The five-year-old boy thrown from the third floor of the Mall of America is amazing his doctors.

According to Mac Hammond, a pastor at the family's church, the boy recently underwent a five-hour MRI test. FOX 9 obtained a video of Pastor Hammond's Easter service in which he provides an update on the boy's condition.

"There was zero evidence of brain damage - there wasn't even swelling," Hammond said. "No spinal cord injury, no nerve damage, no internal injuries that were life-threatening."

Hammond said that the boy did suffer several broken bones. The pastor also said a doctor compared the boy's injuries to falling off a bicycle rather than falling three stories.

Tuesday, a family representative wouldn't confirm the pastor's account of the boy's injuries, but said the family had no dissention with what Hammond said on Easter Sunday. Stephen Tillitt read a family statement that "we have an important week ahead with more milestones to accomplish," confirming the boy is still in intensive care and under sedation.

Meanwhile, the GoFundMe set up for the boy has reached more than $950,000, with a goal of $1 million.

The suspect who threw the boy, 24-year-old Emmanuel Aranda, is charged with first degree attempted premeditated murder.
