Donations pour in for those affected by senior living center fire

WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Residents are still missing Monday morning, more than three days after a fire at a senior living center in West Chester.

Investigative crews hoped to stabilize the building and get inside for the first time Monday morning after hotspots continued to keep them out of the building over the weekend.

Meanwhile, hundreds of people turned out Sunday at the Good Will fire station, to donate clothing and other items, like wheelchairs and walkers.

Within a few hours, volunteers already had so many donations, they began trucking the items to a nearby warehouse, and turning news donors away.

Residents and families of the Barclay Friends Senior Living Center will arrive at the firehouse Monday to pick up the items they need.

Organizers say donations that weren't taken will be given to other local charities.

Meanwhile, ten residents of the facility remain hospitalized, while those displaced have been relocated to other facilities that could meet their medical needs.
