Double shooting kills woman, critically injures man in West Philly; $20K reward offered
WEST PHILADELPHIA - A woman is dead and a man is in critical condition after they were shot inside a car in West Philadelphia.
The violent scene unfolded on the 3800 block of Brown Street around 10 p.m. Tuesday night, according to officials.
A woman, thought to be somewhere between the ages of 20 to 30 and a 33-year-old man were in a vehicle when a suspect opened fire on them, shooting them multiple times.
Responding officers rushed them to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where the woman died immediately after arrival. The man is listed as critical, authorities said.
An active investigation is underway as police search for a suspect or suspects and a motive. A $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
The shooting followed on the heels of three other shootings across Philadelphia, in a particularly violent Christmas Eve in the city.
