DUI suspected after car jumps curb, strikes pedestrians

Police in Philadelphia's Hunting Park neighborhood are investigating a crash that left a pedestrian in critical condition.

The crash occurred around 12:35 a.m. Friday morning on in the area of Hunting Park Avenue and Germantown Avenue.

Police say a car jumped the curb and struck two pedestrians, trapping one underneath the car. The victim was taken to Einstein Medical Center in critical condition.

The other pedestrian was uninjured.

According to police, the driver exited the vehicle and appeared to have been driving under the influence. He was taken to Temple University Hospital for treatment and testing.

Police say the driver will be charged with DUI. Two passengers were also inside the car, and one of them was transported to Einstein for treatment.
