Early morning Haddon Heights fire heavily damages home

An early morning fire in Haddon Heights, New Jersey, heavily damages a home.

Fire crews responded to the fire call about 3:45 a.m. Sunday on the unit block of 2nd Avenue. They were met with heavy smoke and flames when they arrived.

Several area fire crews were called to help extinguish the blaze. Crews were able to get the fire under control in under one hour after arriving on the scene, according to officials.

The occupants inside the residence were all asleep at the time of the fire and they safely evacuated the premises with no injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
