Family friend starts GoFundMe after family loses both parents within months

Bucks County, Pa. (WTXF) - Four children were left without parents after their mom and dad died within months of each other.

13-year-old Jessica Nguyen and her three brothers are still trying to come to terms with the death of their dad, Peter, in August and then the sudden death of their mom, Viviana, a little over a week ago.

"To lose both parents in less than a half a year is heartbreaking. I have no really much words to say," Joseph Nguyen said.

Joseph says the family had just flown to their native Vietnam for fun-filled vacation. He stayed behind to work when his brother called to say their 57-year-old dad went to bed but never woke up.

"My heart just dropped,"Joseph explained. "I burst into tears when I saw my dad not responding. I even tried to bring him back."

And then, the unimaginable--out of nowhere--their mom got sick on November 6th. They rushed her to the hospital, but sadly, the 46-year-died of a thyroid storm. 12-year-old Jesse misses them every day.

"After my dad passed away. I told my mom I don't want to lose her," Jesse Nguyan said.

Jessica was too upset to talk.

The close-knit family is trying to stay strong through this nightmare. A family friend has started a GoFundMe to help the children.

"I told them everything is gonna be OK. We are gonna get through this together. At least we have each other," Joseph said.

The couple was married for over 20 years. The family says they are finding some peace knowing they are together.
