Family loses third child in six years to rare genetic condition
Bonita Springs, FL (WTXF) A northern Florida family has lost their third child in six years to cancer due to a rare genetic disease.
According to the Daily Mail, the Mading family is dealing with the loss of their ten-year-old daughter Isabella 'Bell' Mading. On February 6 , Isabella lost her three-year battle with brain cancer.
This was not her first experience with cancer. The young girl had seen her older brother Cody and her older sister Averi, both aged seventeen when they passed away, loose their lives to cancer. The reason for all of the tragedy that has befallen this family is a rare genetic condition called Lynch Syndrome, the Daily Mail reports.
According to Genetics Home Research, Lynch Syndrome, also known as heredity nonpolyposis colorectal cancer is a genetic disorder that increases the risk of having certain types of cancer like colon or brain cancer. The condition affects around three to five percent of people who suffer from these cancers.
Isabella had hoped to be able to become a nurse that helps people with cancer, the Daily Mail reports. Just as Isabella wanted to be able to give back, her family says that even in face of much tragedy, they state that they will never stop trying to find a way to stop people from suffering like they have.
