Fatal Crash Closes Turnpike Westbound Lanes at Valley Forge

Penn State Police say a fatal, single-vehicle accident that occurred on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Chester County just before 2 p.m. Sunday has required a detour of all westbound Turnpike traffic at the Valley Forge Interchange #326.

According to Penn State Police, the occupants in the vehicle were Penn State students.

The accident occurred at milepost 319 westbound. State Police are now conducting an accident investigation and reconstruction. Other people in the vehicle were injured and transported to a local hospital; the number and extent of those injuries is unclear, according to Penn State police.
