Fire tears through condominiums in Edgewater Park

Edgewater Park, N.J. (WTXF) - Intense flames burst through the roof of a set of homes in the Arbor Green Condominiums in Edgewater Park just as a massive thunderstorm roared through overhead.

"It's like my biggest fear to think you could lose your whole life in a heartbeat." Cindy Ball says her brother lost everything in this fire and has not yet even seen the destruction to his home of nearly 30 years. He's coming back from an interrupted vacation in Atlantic City.

"I cried. A lot of memories here," she said."I was just really upset for them. I can't imagine having your whole life wiped away like that."

Firefighters braving the intense heat while trying to knock down flames that kept popping right back up.

Neighbors believe lightning had at least something to do with it.
