Firefighter Injured Battling Blaze at Southwest Philadelphia Warehouse

One firefighter was injured as crews attempted to contain a three-alarm fire at a warehouse in Southwest Philadelphia Wednesday night.

The warehouse was unoccupied and is located near South 70 th Street and the Cobbs Creek Parkway.

The firefighter was transported to Hahnemann University Hospital, but his condition is unknown at this time.

Officials say the fire was heavily concentrated on the roof area of the building, and started around 8:30 p.m. and was placed under control at 10:59 p.m.

Firefighters remained on scene Thursday morning in search of hot spots. Traffic in the area has been diverted.

No other injuries were reported.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
