Five injured in multi-vehicle accident on Northeast Extension

Two tractor-trailers and two box trucks collided in the northbound lanes of the Northeast Extension in Montgomery County just before 11 a.m. February 21.

Traffic began piling up behind the crash site.

Northbound lanes of the turnpike were shut down between the Lansdale and Quakertown interchanges. They have since reopened.

Five people were injured.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
