Flash Flood Watch, Coastal Flood Advisory to become Warning on this wet, windy Thursday

Don't forget your umbrella and to keep it handy over the next few days, into the weekend.

Rain and wind have been moving up the I-95 corridor from the south and is covering the entire Philadelphia region.

We're cloud-covered and will see occasional breaks from the rain but it won't be over. The rain will return.

High temperatures may not reach 70.

FOX 29 meteorologist Scott Williams reports the Flash Flood Warning that was in effect for Kent and Sussex counties in Delaware expired as scheduled at 930am Thursday. Now, there is a Flash Flood Watch until late Thursday. Already, three inches of rain has fallen in parts of central Delaware and six inches in isolated parts of Sussex County.

DelDOT announced numerous roads being impacted due to high water levels. It said maintenance crews are removing debris, clearing storm drains and grates, and placing portable signs where roadways are flooded. They're also observing traffic signals and will place generators on-site if there is a loss of power.

In New Castle County, DelDOT reports trees down on Frazer Road at Frenchtown Road.

In Kent County, Tub Mill Pond Road at Fork Landing and Rothermel Road at Old Cemetery Road are closed due to high water. Also, look for Water on New Burton Road at Webbs Lane and Bowers Beach Road at Bay Road.

If you see a flooded roadway, turn around and take an alternate route. Don't try to cross over a flooded road, even if it seems shallow.

The Coastal Flood Advisory in effect for coastal New Jersey and Delaware will be upgraded to a Coastal Flood Warning at 11pm Thursday until 1am Friday. High tides are expected 7-9pm Thursday.

This same wet pattern will continue over the next several days.

FOX 29's Bob Kelly warns to drive slowly and be extra careful on the roads, have your headlights on, expect delays on Regional Rail lines, and also check in with your airline if you're flying out.

Heading to the Beyonce concert? There's rain in the forecast but no umbrellas allowed, so be sure to wear a poncho.
