Fmr. Camden Police officer indicted for sexual assault of minor
RIVERTON, N.J. (WTXF) - A former Camden County Police officer was indicted for sexual assault of a minor.
Tyler J. Chrupcala, 25, who was arrested last year for sexually assaulting a teenage girl was indicted by a Burlington County Grand Jury.
Chrupcala was indicted on 4 counts of sexual assault and 1 count of endangering the welfare of a child.
The offense occurred at a residence in Riverton in November 2016. Chrupcala was arrested
following an investigation that was initiated when the victim contacted police.
At the time of his arrest, Chrupcala was employed as a police officer with the Camden County Police Department.
"As soon as our agency was notified, almost a year ago, of these off-duty actions the individual was suspended without pay pending an investigation and adjudication," Says Dan Keashen, Communications Dir of Camden County.
Details of the crime, along with the victim's name, age and the location of the offense, are being
withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
An arraignment will be scheduled soon in Superior Court.
